Moving yourself in 2011 vs moving with Complete Removals part 1
I know you are all probably thinking this thread of blogs are going to be corrupted because they are written by a removalist but I urge you to consider that I will give you both sides and try and be non bias as possible…maybe a little bias but its better to move with professional removalists like Complete Removals. When moving yourself the first thing you need to do is decide whether you are going to move your good in a trailer or a hire truck. If you use a trailer you have a maximum space of approximately 3-4 m3. The average 2 bedroom unit move is 15-20 m3. This means that you can expect to do about 4-5 trips in a trailer. If you hire a trailer you can be looking at $60 to $70 hire costs for the day. Here are the immediate problems with a trailer, they have a checker plate floor and no ramp so the heavy furniture you will have to slide on the trailer. This can snap off legs, or chip nicely polished sides. Your fridge will have to be lifted onto the trailer which is heavy and may hurt you back and once you slide it down the trailer you have a good chance of snapping one of the wheels or adjustable legs off. It is nearly impossible to avoid sliding at some point on the trailer. See tomorrows post for part 2.
