Part 13 (Day before you move)
The Day Before M-Day
Catch the cats. If you don’t catch the furry critters today, they’re likely to work out very early tomorrow what’s going on and take off. Remember to use a cage for both yours, and their, safety.
Finish packing by tonight. You should only have three open top boxes before you go to bed:
-
Your Survival Kit which you will use in the morning.
-
Your Tool Kit with all of the disassembled screws, bolts, etc.
-
One last box you couldn’t fill completely
A few last empty boxes. Have last minute empty boxes ready to pack:
-
Your bedding and Manchester
-
Your few last minute kitchen items like coffee machine, toaster etc
-
Your fridge and freezer (although an Esky is far better suited)
-
TV cables, DVD player and set top box
Check the house.
-
Every room in the house
-
Every cupboard and every draw (there’s always one that’s been missed )
-
All storage areas (cellar, attic, basement)
-
Carport
-
Sheds
-
The entire perimeter of your property outside
Making your move more efficient. To make moving more efficient in the morning for us removalists
-
Make sure all doorways and hallways are cleared of items so we can carry furniture direct to the truck without having to move items out of the way
-
Stack yourboxes up in a few corners of the house to reduce clutter.
-
Ensure all boxes are stacked two to three boxes high or four to five foot high
-
If you have small items you don’t want moved, put them in one corner of the house, or in a walk in robe or bathroom.
-
If you have large items that are not to be moved, put obvious labels on them.
Good luck tomorrow - although you won’t need it because you are professionally prepared to move now.
If you have decided to move yourself we wish you luck
